Ritwik Mitra is a highly experienced and knowledgeable software engineer with over 16 years of experience in architecting distributed and scalable enterprise solutions. He is a Java Tech Specialist and a mentor who is passionate about learning and applying new technologies to solve complex problems. Ritwik's expertise lies in Core Java (8+), Kotlin, Project Reactor, and Golang. He is proficient in using Spring Boot & Webflux, Dropwizard for building web applications and has experience in streaming with Apache Spark and Flink. He is also well-versed in working with various data stores such as Redis, Cassandra/ScyllaDB, Postgresql / MySQL, Elasticsearch, Aerospike, and RocksDB. Ritwik's philosophy is to keep learning and trying until he fixes the problem. He believes in the quote, "Change is the end result of all true learning" by Leo Buscaglia. He is currently working as the Senior Director of Engineering at Verse, where he is responsible for leading the development of their recommendation platform. Prior to joining Verse, Ritwik worked at Sun Microsystems as a Member Technical Staff. He has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Delhi and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Computer Science from Hans Raj College. He also holds an AISSCE degree from The Air Force School, New Delhi, where he studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and Computer Science.
