Ritwik Sharma is an Engineer at LinkedIn with a passion for open source development and backend programming. He believes that doing great work is the key to a fulfilling life and constantly strives to improve his skills and knowledge. Currently, Ritwik works on the Site Reliability Engineering - Infrastructure Team at LinkedIn, where he is responsible for maintaining the health and performance of the website. He owns several parts of the site, including the Homepage, and has added AFD traffic and availability status. He has also developed a load test login page and built tools for efficient site issue troubleshooting, detection, and correlation. In addition to his work on the infrastructure team, Ritwik has also developed several projects at LinkedIn, including SenSus, a deep learning model based on Convolutional Neural Networks for sentiment analysis of LinkedIn-related tweets. He developed it using TensorFlow and achieved an accuracy of approximately 85% with as little as 0.3 seconds per sentence evaluation time. He also created Omnibot, a Slack bot based on Slack's Real-Time Message API, which fetches the current traffic status of POPs and Fabric/Colo by querying several APIs and self-developed APIs to get current QPS, Buckets count, Failout ticket, Failout Time, etc. Before joining LinkedIn, Ritwik worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Red Hat, where he worked on Satellite, a systems-management product for Red Hat Enterprise Linux hosts. He developed a Satellite Log Data Analysis tool using data extraction from ElasticSearch and optimized its performance from over 2.5 hours to just 4 seconds. He also wrote rules for Red Hat Insights and worked on the development of the product. Ritwik holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies and completed his senior secondary education from Delhi Public School, Ranipur Haridwar. He has a diverse tech stack that includes SRE, infra, backend, Python, Elastic Search, Tensorflow, neural networks, Azure, PHP, and Naive Bayes.
