Riyaz Khan is a seasoned IT professional with over 20 years of experience in digital infrastructure, IT project management, system administration, and networking. He is currently the AGM of IT & Infra at BookMyShow, where he leads the network operation center and is responsible for designing and implementing data center networking. Riyaz has a comprehensive understanding of networking, designing, and maintaining network devices, routers, switches, firewall, load balancers, and network management systems. He has hands-on experience working with Cisco Catalyst switches and routers, Cisco data center switches, wireless networks, and security systems such as Cisco PIX/ASA/FWSM, Sonicwall, Cyberoam/Sophos, PaloAlto, and Fortinet. Riyaz has a strong understanding of network fundamentals, routing, switching, security, load balancing, and cloud networking. He has experience with ThousandEye, NewRelic, BGP (Public & Private), Cisco Meraki & ZScaler, SD-WAN & SDN, and VMware (vSphere, vSAN, NSX), Nutanix & OnAPP. At BookMyShow, Riyaz is responsible for managing infrastructure, implementing auto-scaling, managing servers, networks, and storage, conducting performance and efficiency analyses, and ensuring the maximum availability of services. He has also implemented end-to-end APM using NewRelic and automated application and infrastructure monitoring health checks, alerts, and business reporting using Solarwinds & ScienceLogic. Prior to joining BookMyShow, Riyaz worked as a Manager of Network Infrastructure & Data Center Operation at Network18 Media & Investment Ltd and as an Assistant Manager of Data Center at Rediff. At Network18, he managed external agencies, administered activities related to planning, designing, troubleshooting, scheduling, and managing network projects and data centers, and mentored a team of 20+ teammates. At Rediff, he managed CAPEX & OPEX, conducted BCP, negotiated commercials/SLAs, and mentored a team of 13 people. Riyaz holds a B.Sc in Physics from the University of Mumbai and a Diploma in Computer Hardware & Networking from Networking - St.Xavier's Technical Institute. He is skilled in infra, AWS, GCP, New Relic, product management, SRE, microservices, DevOps, web, senior software engineering, and testing.
