Rob Bjerke is a seasoned software engineer who has spent over a decade honing his skills in architecture modernization. He has a passion for helping companies improve their processes and systems and has learned a lot about leadership, patience for change, and being creative with solutions. Rob's experience has taught him that legacy systems' issues are not so much about the technology but rather the company's commitment to invest in keeping up with growing business needs. Currently, Rob works as a Software Development Engineer 2 at Conversica, where he is responsible for maintaining and improving the main data intake funnel for the rest of the product. He occasionally works with other teams on larger scale or smaller, one-off projects. Rob has identified a situation where the company was not utilizing the full capacity of its infrastructure and worked up a metrics analysis document that illustrated the situation and presented a solution to the review board. The design and discussion were well-received and used as an example for future designs. He has also automated a frequent process for the Technical Account Management team, saving time for them and engineering and reducing the resolution time when receiving those kinds of requests from clients. Rob has worked with various technologies, including PHP, MySQL, Linux, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes. He has also worked with other companies such as Faithlife and Conversica, where he has designed and implemented migration for critical processes, developed the front-end for user-specific news feed and events, and developed the front-end for user settings. Rob holds a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Western Washington University and an AAS from Whatcom Community College. He has experience in software engineering, AWS, Docker, C, PHP, MySQL, infra, Kubernetes, test, Web, dotNET, ASP.NET, Frontend, and Javascript.
