Rob Zienert is a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer at Netflix, living in California. He has a passion for developing software that works efficiently without unnecessary bells and whistles. Rob's interest in software engineering began in middle school when he picked up C++ to help develop the popular Half-Life game, Digital Paintball. Currently, Rob serves as the Technical Oversight Committee Chair for Spinnaker at the Continuous Delivery Foundation. He manages both the Release Engineer and Test Automation teams, overseeing the development of tooling and processes that make up the continuous delivery pipelines for all firmware and software projects, including web and mobile applications. Rob is also a member of the Architecture Review Board. Prior to his current role, Rob worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Netflix, primarily focusing on the company's CICD product. He has also served as a Manager of Release Engineering at SmartThings, where he managed both the Release Engineer and Test Automation teams, developed automated test, load, and failure testing harnesses, and was a member of the Architecture Review Board. Rob's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Entertainment Business and an Associate's degree in Digital Media, both from Full Sail University. With over 24 years of relevant experience, Rob is well-versed in software engineering, testing, SDET, mobile, and web technologies.
