Robert Doherty-Kelly is a highly motivated Senior Agile Automation Tester with more than 15 years of experience in the field. He is known for his strong automated testing skills, particularly in complex exploratory, integration, API, smoke, and system testing. Robert is a great team player who can lead, motivate, and coordinate both test and non-testing resources. Robert is personable and friendly, with excellent interpersonal skills and a good social and professional network. He is confident, adaptable, and professional. Robert is knowledgeable in various methodologies such as Scrum, TDD, BDD, Kanban, SAFe, and Waterfall. Robert has technical knowledge in various languages and frameworks such as JavaScript (NodeJS, TypeScript), Java (Spring), Groovy, Cucumber, CodeceptJS, WebdriverIO, Puppeteer, Protractor, Geb, Spock, Selenium, RestAssured, JSON, XML, JQuery, HTML & CSS, XPath, Mocha, Chai, SQL, and VB. Currently, Robert is working as a Senior Mobile Automation QA at News UK, where he is responsible for automating the mobile UI test workflow using Ruby, Cucumber & Appium. He has also planned and implemented the migration of their automation suite to CircleCI, creating new workflows to support app PR smoke testing and nightly cross-device testing in AWS Device Farm. Robert is also responsible for creating, maintaining, and refactoring UI test code for both functional and visual regression tests. Before joining News UK, Robert worked as a Test Lead and SDET at HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS), where he supported multiple Tribunal Reform teams and the highly Agile (Scrum) Divorce Reform team. Robert has a BSc (Hons) in Computing with Artificial Intelligence from the University of Leeds and a Foundation in Software Testing from Self Study.
