Robert Nemzek is an experienced software architect and developer with over 30 years of professional experience in developing and supporting commercial enterprise software products in enterprise management, virtualization, cloud-computing, and big data. He is currently serving as an Engineering Manager at Ocient, a company that enables organizations to pursue new opportunities and transformational value with solutions tailored for hyperscale data sets. Robert has worked in both start-ups and large companies, holding prominent roles such as VP and Director. He is truly passionate about coding and enjoys slinging code. He has a proven track record of delivering successful software products and solutions in various domains. In his previous role as a Level 4 Engineer at Yellowbrick Data, Robert was hired specifically to build a data collection system that would run as part of the YB solution stack. He also developed a multi-tenant back-office support system that would house all the data collected by the data collection system. Additionally, he was responsible for monitoring and alerting the YB solution stack, both hardware and software, so YB support could proactively identify and troubleshoot issues. As a Director of Product Engineering and Software Engineering at CSC, Robert managed engineering teams providing all product engineering, operational systems engineering, and business systems engineering. He also oversaw the design, development, testing, and support of CSC private, public, and hybrid cloud solutions for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings. His key focus was on orchestration, workflow, automation, and integration to enable agility and scaling of services without requiring the scaling of operational support staff.
