Robin Singh Sidhu is a Patent Engineer at Cardinal Intellectual Property with a passion for real-world impacting implementations. He specializes in deploying algorithms for noisy signals and designing solutions using ML and SP. Robin enjoys problem-solving and developing creative solutions to challenges in different fields. His fascination with working across disciplines has led him to gain expertise in ML, Computer Vision, AI, and NLP. He is also a Research Scientist with 2.35 years of relevant experience. Robin has researched state-of-the-art developments in AI, computer vision, and machine learning, including GANs, parallel CNNs, Mask R-CNNs, LSTMs, Attention NLP, TCNs, and their applications. He has analyzed and searched for prior arts in response to PCT application and provided specialist feedback for novelty and inventive steps rejections. Robin is also providing expert opinions on patent feasibility and current state-of-the-art technology in the field search for patentability requests. Prior to joining Cardinal Intellectual Property, Robin worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, developing coding models for information transfer in neurons using stochastic filtering and optimizing model parameters to generate spike-trains that are statistically indistinguishable from experimental ones. He also worked as a Research Intern at Sinapse, where he created a data set for validating SLAM and other computer vision algorithms for event-based sensors while working on a neuromorphic Dynamic Vision sensor. Robin holds a Master of Science degree in ECE from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from IIT. He completed his secondary education in Physical Sciences from Mount Carmel School. Robin's tech stack includes ML, Computer Vision, AI, NLP, and Search.
