Robin Balaga is a seasoned Staff Backend Engineer with over 10 years of relevant experience. Currently, he is working at Slack, where he is the Tech lead for Enterprise Admin Teams. Robin is responsible for supporting three teams that build features for managing large scale Slack organizations. His projects include a new roles and permission system, international data residency, and international billing. Robin is interested in building teams that balance technical innovation and high-quality feature delivery while growing careers. Before joining Slack, Robin worked at Yelp, where he served as a Software Engineer. He worked on the Biz Monetization Team and i18n Team, where he was responsible for Backend Python development on activity feed and metrics pages for business owners to measure customer leads generated through Yelp. He also worked on Full-stack development on the purchase flow for page upgrades and ads sold through Yelp's biz owner site. Additionally, Robin built infrastructure to process and ingest data from partner companies and developed and supported Yelp's location localizing service and translation workflow. He wrote tools for data validation and site configuration for new country launches and contributed to code releases as a 'pushmaster' coordinating deployment and monitoring. Robin also worked as an Application Development Summer Technology Intern at JP Morgan. He worked on full-stack development on an asset management simulation web application with a Javascript frontend and Java RESTful API.
