Robin Khurana is an energetic and skilled software engineer with a strong interest in the computer software industry. He has a diverse range of experience in software development, data engineering, distributed computing, and teamwork. Robin holds an Integrated Dual Degree in Computer Science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi. Currently, Robin is working as a Senior Software Engineer at nference, where he is contributing to building a propositional sentiment-based search engine to generate inference from terabytes of data in a latency of seconds. He has significantly contributed to building a complete Index Gen Pipeline using their own self-made embedded database as well as rocksDB. Robin has also created a framework in Golang to manage big jobs from scratch which involves map-reduce functionality, rate limiting, scheduling, fault tolerance, retries. He has been involved in creating two async services wrapped around with the framework and also build a master-slave approach in which all slaves can accept requests but the only master can process it. Additionally, Robin has built a generic pipeline to increase the GPU utilization from 41% to 92% and resolved the problem of underutilization of GPU. Prior to his current role, Robin worked as a Software Engineer + Instructor at InterviewBit, where he added enhancements to improve the mock interview and referral graph service. He was involved in creating an automated report card for scaler academy students based on the class performance and created the complete simulation of Interview creation as a prototype. Robin was also involved in teaching DS/Algo to scaler academy students.
