Roger Santos is a Senior UX Designer with over 12 years of experience leading the User Experience for enterprise-grade products to Healthcare Systems, Government Agencies, and B2B solutions for clients in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He is currently working as an Interaction Designer at RBC. Roger's latest achievements include the design from concept to launch of the Medchart US Portal, responsible for more than 80% of the company revenue in 2020. He also implemented AODA accessibility standards that enabled a partnership with Shoppers Drug Mart in January 2021. Prior to RBC, Roger worked as a User Experience Designer at Medchart, where he led the design of the US Portal, responsible for 80% of the total revenue of the company in 2020. He also led the implementation of the Accessibility Standards (WCAG 2.0 AA) in the Canada Portal to comply with the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), which enabled a partnership between Medchart and Shoppers Drugmart. Roger also led the user research with The US and Canada Law Firms and Product Owners to support the UX Strategy and feature prioritization for 2020. He created Medchart's QA Team and integrated the QA Testing schedule into the development cycles, reducing drastically the number of customer-facing bugs. Before Medchart, Roger worked as a UI/UX Developer at Vocera Communications, where he designed UI/UX for Vocera Smartbadge, which won the "2019 Best Internet of Things Healthcare Wearable" award by MedTech Breakthrough. He also created the Patient Context Module that allows Vocera Products to integrate into hospitals' medical records. Roger reviewed Vocera Collaboration Suite iOS App at Apple Headquarters as part of Vocera partner program. He founded Member the Vocera UX Council, improving the Vocera user experience by reducing the number of steps to perform tasks, prioritizing high-value features, and standardizing the user interface across all products and its different platforms. Roger holds a UX Certification from Nielsen Norman Group, a User Experience Design degree from George Brown College, and a Web Design/Web Development degree from Alfamidia - Brazil. He also studied Human-Computer Interaction at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Roger's relevant experience includes designing, QA, testing, research scientist, UI, product manager, and iOS.
