Rohan Bagchi is a seasoned engineer with over 7 years of experience building and shipping maintainable and performant code for data-heavy JavaScript applications. He has worked for both startups and large multinational corporations, and he enjoys working with a focused team. Rohan thinks in terms of value and solving real customer problems. He spends time first understanding the problem statement and its possible side effects before implementing the solution. He is a fast learner and has had the luxury of working with very smart team mates. Currently, Rohan is working as a Software Engineer at Atlassian. In his previous role as a Senior Frontend Engineer at Razorpay, he worked extensively on the CA onboarding charter within RazorpayX dealing with self-serve onboarding of ICICI bank current account. He built a multi-step form with automatic saves, a sidebar with a list of form steps, and a status icon next to every nav item. He also added functionality to prefill publicly available information about the business to prevent dropoffs due to large forms mandated by the banks and mobile web support. This project is currently the primary driver of self-serve current account onboarding for RazorpayX, and the mobile web project gave them ~5X improvement in conversions as per the latest metric. He is also an active contributor to the hiring pipeline for frontend folks at Razorpay by contributing to their internal question pool and participating in interviews. Prior to that, Rohan worked as a Javascript Engineer at Zalando SE, Berlin, where he was part of the Retail Operations Engineering team. He worked on Retail Center, a suite of applications used by suppliers selling on the Zalando platform. He and his team added functionality, improved load time and perceived run time performance, and set and improved coding/testing standards. He also owned a module that handles client-side authentication flow, token refresh, logout redirection to authentication server, etc., and it was used by all the applications running within Retail Center. He set up the frontend infrastructure for development, build, and deployment for a set of shared functionality in their internal npm registry to be used alongside their design system while optimizing for developer experience by adding TypeScript and publishing type definitions. Rohan holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Information Technology from Haldia Institute of Technology. He also completed his 10+2 in Science from Kendriya Vidyalaya and Matriculation from Don Bosco High School, Tezpur. His tech stack includes Software Engineering, Frontend
