Rohan Das is a graduate student at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. His research interests lie in the area of Natural Language Processing, with a focus on Morphology and Computational Creativity. Rohan is exploring the potential of large language models to generate and interpret creative text while maintaining the figurative aspects of language when applied to downstream tasks. He is currently working on leveraging morphology within pre-trained transformer models for machine translation tasks. Before pursuing his graduate studies, Rohan worked as a Software Engineer in the Enterprise Content Management and Content Services space. He has extensive experience in the Financial Process Automation domain, building multiple integrations and platform-level components to help customers derive maximum value from their ERP investments. At Hyland, Rohan worked on products such as Hyland FPA Services, Perceptive Connector for Infor, and Hyland AP for Infor Financials and Supply Management. He was responsible for requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, and integration testing, and used technologies such as C#, Java, TypeScript, and AngularJS. In his current role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder, Rohan supports, guides, and mentors final-year undergraduates as they work on their senior year capstone projects. He is also open to research internship opportunities in NLP for summer 2023, in both industry and academia. Rohan holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Information Technology from the Institute of Engineering & Management. He is proficient in various technologies such as NLP, Microservices, UI/UX Components, Integration, Typescript, Java, and AngularJS. With 5.10 years of relevant experience, Rohan is a skilled researcher and software engineer with a passion for exploring the potential of NLP in creative text generation and interpretation.
