Rohan Kshirsagar is a highly skilled Machine Learning Scientist with over 6 years of relevant experience. He is currently working as a Staff Machine Learning Scientist on Trust at Airbnb where he has been instrumental in designing and implementing various risk models for detecting fraudulent activities. He has a proven track record of building and maintaining a suite of online and offline risk models that detect behaviors ranging from account takeovers to personal safety incidents. Rohan has also designed and productionized Airbnb's first behavioral Account Takeover model that detects whether an account is hacked by analyzing the account's session activity patterns. He has also hosted the ML forum across all platform teams for several years and reviewed all Trust models for ML Excellence Standards. Prior to his current role, Rohan worked as a Machine Learning Lead at Koko, a community moderation platform that was acquired by Airbnb. As the first hire, he built out their AI infrastructure for experimentation and serving and created the infrastructure to train and track thousands of reproducible experiments at scale using Argo/Kubernetes/Python/Jsonnet. Before Koko, Rohan worked as a Senior Software Engineer in the NLP Group at Bloomberg. His focus was on Low latency News Extraction, Table Understanding & Extraction, and he worked extensively on Software Architecture and Design, Machine Learning, NLP, C++, and Python. Rohan holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science focused on Natural Language Processing/Machine Learning from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science from Duke University. His technical skills include ML, Research Scientist, NLP, infra, AI, Python, Deep Learning, Kubernetes, and Software Engineering.
