He is currently working at Gather AI, where he is responsible for developing autonomous systems that can efficiently navigate and collect data in complex environments. Rohit's expertise in AI and research science has enabled him to design and implement cutting-edge solutions for various challenging problems. Before joining Gather AI, Rohit pursued a Master's degree in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University. During his time at the university, he worked as a Masters Candidate at The Air Lab, Robotics Institute, where he contributed to the exploration planning of aerial platforms for Team Explorer in the DARPA SubTerranean Challenge. He also served as a Research Associate at the Field Robotics Center, where he developed a safe landing site system for a quadcopter using stereo vision. Additionally, he wrote an occupancy grid mapping pipeline from the ground up as part of the aerial autonomy stack for the DARPA SubT Challenge and worked on frontier-based exploration planning. Rohit's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Physics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
