Rohit Garg is a highly motivated technical leader with over 20 years of experience in advertising platforms, telecom, and system software development. He has worked mostly in start-ups and product development companies, which has given him exposure to various software development processes. Currently, Rohit is the India Site Lead and Senior Director of Engineering at Samsung Ads. Rohit has versatile experience in engineering functions for software development in large-scale, multi-component distributed systems. He is skilled at building software development areas such as microservices that belong to high traffic & low latencies, streams & batch data processing systems, big data systems. With his tech platforms vision, he has solved business flow complexities and focused on contribution towards product strategy, architecture, design, development, and operations. In his previous role as Director of Engineering at Flipkart, Rohit led the scale & growth charter in AdTech, handling content serving/optimization layer for AdProducts (Display & Performance Ads) across 1P/3P supply along with Pinned merchandising. He worked extensively & envisioned to scale the Demand, Content Ingestion and Auto Content Platforms. He also enabled nearly real-time data processing & reporting systems and moved from Pull based system arch to push-based (CDC Debezium), scaled content propagation to millions of contents for AdTech, Merch (FK Homepage, CLPs), and CRM. Rohit's key platforms include Demand Side Platform, Content Enrichment, Health, and Ingestion Framework & Platform, Rule-based Auto Content Platform, E2E Biz Flow via systematic integration with FB for Digital Marketing use cases, Big Data Management platform (ingestion, curation, aggregation, storage, insights, visualization) & Attribution Ecosystem. He has enabled the ML ecosystem to create Ranking Models and Unique segments that enable personalized experiences. Rohit has also worked in Yahoo! Groups Engineering Team, where he worked on new features in the existing system, Design, Model, and Implementation (microservices). He has experience in incremental archive data push to Grid for Data Analysis - Model Building, coordination with Yahoo! Labs, Data Lake, Processing, Pipelines, and Metrics Analysis, and platform migration, integration of internal frameworks/platform for performance improvement of the product. Rohit has a degree in B.E. in Computer Science from Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, and an EGMP degree in Management from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
