Rohit Raj is a pre-final year undergraduate student at IIT Kharagpur with a keen interest in data analytics and machine learning. He is currently working as a Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence on Safety Analytics intern at Prof. J. Maiti, Centre of Excellence on Safety Engineering and Analytics. Rohit has submitted a research paper on Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) sheet analysis using self-organizing Map and has used SOM to represent a high-dimensional dataset as a two-dimensional discretized pattern for better visualization. Rohit has also worked as a Data Science Intern at Tata where he developed a novel way of extracting product embeddings for e-commerce businesses from product metadata. He designed a multi-task classification Convolutional Neural Network in Keras to embed categorical product data and utilized the GloVe word embeddings to convert text data to an embedding matrix before feeding them to the CNN model. He also modeled a Siamese Network with cosine similarity as a custom loss function to embed product bought together data and implemented Bi-directional Long-Short Term Memory(Bi-directional LSTM) in Keras to embed product sequence data. Rohit is seeking a summer internship as a Quantitative Analyst and has acquired most of the relevant technical competencies in data analytics and machine learning for application purposes. He is proficient in ML, Data Scientist, Keras, Search, Research Scientist, CNN, Neural Networks, and has a relevant experience of 0.53 years. Apart from his technical skills, Rohit has also demonstrated his leadership skills as the Secretary Maintenance at Patel Hall of Residence. He managed all the maintenance work till date of the hall under the guidance of General Secretary Maintenance and Hall President. He conducted Illumination (Tradition of KGP Halls during Diwali) and managed the whole batch of 1st and 2nd year. He was the single point of contact between Hall Council Members, Hall management staff, seniors, batchmates, and juniors. He conducted blood donation camps, Patel Jyanti, Saraswati puja, Rangoli, and other various events in Patel Hall of Residence. Rohit is a highly motivated individual with a passion for data analytics and machine learning. He is a quick learner, an excellent team player, and has excellent communication skills. He is looking forward to utilizing his skills and experience to contribute to an organization's growth and success.
