Ronit Damania is a highly skilled Software Engineer and Research Scientist with over 3 years of experience in the field. Ronit is a Master's Student in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and is currently working on his thesis on automatic speech recognition specifically on data augmentation. As a Graduate Research Assistant at VisualDX, he worked on identifying skin lesions using Deep Neural Network and improved the generalization of the model by techniques like data augmentation, Manifold Mixup, and dropout which improved the accuracy by 4%. Currently, Ronit is working as an ML Software Engineer at NTID Center on Access Technology where he evaluates and develops projects that use Automatic Speech Recognition technologies. He performs critical analysis and uses creative approaches to solving complex problems, builds/use applications related to machine learning, applies machine learning algorithms, develops prototype ideas/solutions, and documents and tracks work and progress. Prior to his current role, Ronit worked as a Software Development Engineer Intern at Amazon where he built a backend that helps calculate usage and internal cost of various AWS services, designed a database that is efficient for querying using Elasticseach, and created a cron that triggers the Lambda function in Java to calculate the daily cost. Ronit holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Mumbai University. He has a strong technical background in ML, Software Engineering, Neural Networks, AWS, Java, and Backend.
