Roopa Narayan Sahoo is a seasoned UX Product Designer with over 7 years of experience in the field of Interaction Design/Human Computer Interaction (IXD/HCI) and User Experience Design (UX). She also has 6+ years of working experience in the field of Information Technology (IT) and Computer Science. Roopa has a Master of Design (M.Des) in Interaction Design (IXD) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India, and a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha. Currently, Roopa is working as a UX Product Designer Lead at E-Kalpa Lab, IDC, IIT Bombay, where she is responsible for Concept Development, Strategic Plan, Management, and Support of various projects in various domains. Her work involves conducting design research and strategizing UX projects in agile contexts, defining the right interaction model, Information System Architecture & Design, developing wireframes and task flows based on user needs. She is well versed with qualitative and quantitative research methods, and post-synthesis analysis. Roopa has worked on varied projects in the area of E-learning, SaaS Design, AAC system, Data visualization and searching, Healthcare, CMS, AR, VR, Design-Technology Experience via exhibitions/installations targeting mobile & web platforms. She actively uses methods such as User study, User Research, Contextual inquiry, Ethnography Study, Usability Testing & Evaluation, Prototyping, Semantic Analysis, and Heuristic Evaluation in her projects. Roopa is also exploring new areas such as Human-AI Interaction Design, Internet of things (IoT), Physical Computing, Metaverse - Persistent online 3D virtual environments, Trends in Interaction Design, New Concept Development, New Trade & Trends in Design, Technology, and Innovation, Big Data and Cloud Computing, Communication Design, Service Design, Social Media, Mobile, Web & other Digital Platforms/Systems with keen interest. Roopa finds satisfaction in evaluating business needs and translating them into design-technology solutions. She wishes to incorporate varied inputs and experiences holistically in her work.
