Roshan Alexander is a passionate and experienced leader in the technology industry, with a focus on using technology to make the world a better place. With over 12 years of experience in leadership roles and building products and teams for startups, Roshan has a strong track record of success. Currently, Roshan is the Co-Founder and CTO of grow91, where he is responsible for driving the technical vision and strategy of the company. In this role, he has built multiple highly scalable and robust distributed systems serving millions of users. Prior to grow91, Roshan was the VP of Engineering at Newton School, where he set up development practices for the engineering team and formulated processes for coordination among different product and engineering teams. He also built AWS infra from scratch, moved the whole system to Kubernetes, and built a highly scalable code compiler for support of coding contests. Additionally, Roshan built a CICD framework for services and implemented infra with Gitops using FluxCD for better developer control of infra. He also set up monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Search, and FluentD, and dockerized all services to be run in Kubernetes. Roshan also fixed scaling issues in AWS and Kubernetes infra. Before Newton School, Roshan was an Engineering Manager at Pratilipi, where he managed two teams of 10 engineers and was responsible for handling the reader side of the platform. He worked closely with the PM for strategic decisions for the platform and was responsible for team deliverables and mentoring new engineers. He also implemented process changes for increasing team throughput. Roshan holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from the College of Engineering, Munnar, and completed his 12th grade at Thapovan Public School, Adoor. His technical skills include Senior Software Engineer, AWS, infra, Kubernetes, Elastic Search, Search, and product management.
