Roshini Chakrapani is a driven and ambitious software engineer with a passion for machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of Southern California, Roshini has gained valuable experience in various projects and research initiatives. Roshini's expertise in the field of machine learning and data analytics is evident from her work on a government-funded research project titled "Metro Bus Transit Frequency Regulation System using Nelder – Mead Optimization." Her team presented ideas for society's development to the government, and the best ideas were selected and funded. Roshini also interned at Philips, where she worked on the "Product Recommendation System" that identifies customer interests and recommends products accordingly. Roshini's research experience includes working as a Research Assistant in Taiwan, where she worked on the project titled "Handwriting Recognition using Convolutional Neural Networks and Support Vector Machines." She has also published a paper in IEEE and presented two papers in an IEEE Conference that are yet to be published. Roshini's technical skills are diverse, and she has worked on various projects in Python, Java, C, C++, and more. Her undergraduate thesis on "Abnormality Detection in Stock Price using Long Short Term Memory and Social Media Analytics" predicted stock prices using historical data, news articles, and social media data. Currently working at Amazon as an SDE 1, Roshini has previously worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Shutterfly and as a Research Student at Anna University. Her work at Anna University involved conducting research on "Metro Bus Transit Frequency Regulation System by Nelder-Mead Optimization Algorithm" and managing a team of three for the government-funded research intended towards society's betterment. Roshini's technical stack includes expertise in software engineering, research science, recommendation systems, machine learning, neural networks, Python, C++, and Java. With 2.77 years of relevant experience and a drive for innovation, Roshini is seeking internship opportunities for the summer of 2019.
