Rounak Mundra is a skilled software engineer at Apple with a strong background in big data ecosystem. He graduated from the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad with a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) and MS by Research in Computer Science and Computational Natural Science. With 3.77 years of relevant experience, Rounak has developed expertise in designing and setting up scalable and robust data systems that deal with Petabytes of data, performance tuning in Spark, Kafka, Apache Iceberg, and SQL, and maintaining datasets within compliance rules and regulations. At Apple, Rounak is a part of the AppleCare Digital, Global Business Intelligence team where he is responsible for re-designing and setting up new data pipelines in Datalake and meeting company goals with consistent and organized practices. He is also responsible for delivering projects end-to-end from requirement gathering from business, design discussions, and final implementation. Rounak is a team player who believes in achieving a certain objective on time and with excellence. Rounak's technical skills include Spark, Kafka, Apache Iceberg, C++, Scala (basic), Python, SQL, AWS (S3, EMR, EKS), Teradata, ReactJs, and scripting. He is also experienced in teaching and mentoring, having worked as a Teaching Assistant at IIIT Hyderabad, where he designed quizzes, conducted tutorials and graded assignments, quizzes, and semester examination for Linear Algebra course for 3 consecutive semesters. Additionally, Rounak has worked as a Visiting Summer Research Intern at Griffith University, where he worked on the designing and implementation of the structure of quantum dynamic sequences.
