Ruchit Vithani is an experienced data engineer, data scientist, and software developer with a passion for building infrastructure for data ETL pipelines, using machine learning libraries in Python, and writing optimal Python jobs to process data using available resources. He has industry-level experience in these fields and is well-versed in modern software development principles, object-oriented programming, functional programming, and object-oriented design patterns. Currently pursuing an MS in Quantitative and Computational Finance at Georgia Tech, Ruchit is also a graduate assistant at the Scheller College of Business. In this role, he is responsible for extracting over 400,000 credit agreements from SEC 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K documents, scraping covenant names and values from these agreements, and developing a weak-supervision model to detect covenant violations. Additionally, he is building a pipeline to detect if a waiver was given for the violation of the credit agreement. Prior to his current role, Ruchit worked as a data engineer and software engineer at Zomato. As a data engineer, he developed a Python script to publish Tableau data extracts based on configuration files from users, reducing the number of required creator licenses and wrote multiple data pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Apache Airflow to automate redundant tasks of the Data Platform. He also developed an automatic PII detection pipeline that identifies and encrypts personal information in daily sync pipelines. As a software engineer, he worked in the location service team, integrated vernacular service in location-service stacks to allow location-related entities displayed in Indian languages, and optimized long-running machine learning jobs, reducing run time from 7 hours to 40 minutes. He also migrated location-related entities from Zomato monolith to location microservice and developed monitoring pipelines to periodically monitor discrepancies between two DBs during migration and send alerts for differences. Ruchit holds a Bachelor of Technology in Information and Communication Technology from Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology and is expected to complete his Master's degree in Quantitative and Computational Finance from Georgia Tech in December 2023.
