Ruppesh Nalwaya is a Research Software Engineer at Adobe, with a passion for solving problems in the domain of Computer Vision and Machine Learning. He is currently working on developing Video Intelligence technology at Creative Intelligence Lab, Adobe Research. With 7.77 years of relevant experience, Ruppesh has a strong background in developing software solutions for Computer Vision and Machine Learning applications. In his previous role as a Member of Technical Staff 2 at Adobe, he developed the Computer Vision algorithms for Adobe Scan App, a tool of Acrobat family which transforms the document images taken from a mobile phone into high-quality scan-like images with accurate OCR, making the documents searchable. He also developed Neural Network-based technology for Illuminant estimation and shadow removal from document images, and the classification model for the feature "document discovery from photo gallery" of Adobe Scan. In addition, he worked on making image processing and ML algorithms performant on Mobile devices using parallel processing technologies. Prior to his role at Adobe, Ruppesh was a Thesis Student at Indian Institute of Technology, where he worked on his undergraduate thesis titled "Object Detection using contour-based approach" at Computer Vision Lab, IIT Madras. His thesis involved obtaining a minimal set of multiple contour-based models to improve the object detection rate using pictorial structures framework and integer programming. Ruppesh holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Computer Science from BITS, Pilani. He also completed his Class XII and Class X from Hind Zinc School, Chittorgarh. Ruppesh's technical skills include Research Scientist, Software Engineer, Computer Vision, ML, Mobile, Image Processing, Object detection, Neural Networks, and Object Detection. He is a driven individual who enjoys working on challenging projects and is always looking for new opportunities to learn and grow.
