Russell Kasbaum is a seasoned Consulting Software Engineer with over 27 years of experience in the information technology industry. He has a strong background in IBM MIDRANGE and POWER Systems and has proven experience in iSeries administration, POWER system setup and configuration, software development, project management, cross-group collaboration, and software development life-cycle. Russell has experience working with multiple IBM operating systems and Unix variants such as AIX, LINUX, and Solaris. He has set up and configured three IBM POWER Systems, supporting a minimum of 12 concurrently running logical partitions, with 11 operating systems and at least four simultaneously running languages. Additionally, he has administered multiple windows servers on which he installed and configured various versions of db2 and Informix, which were virtual machines running under Hyper-V. Russell is passionate about researching ways to do more with less, easing setup configuration and support, while saving the company money. For instance, he found a no-charge product from Oracle called Virtual Box that allowed Unix variants to run as virtual machines. He used it as the team's Solaris virtual server, and currently, two virtual Solaris machines are running, one db2 and one Informix, on a single Virtual Box server, residing on a Windows 2012 server. Russell has been involved in delivering solutions for distributed systems and enterprise computing, requiring cross-team and multinational collaboration. He has implemented solutions allowing inter-connectivity between Windows, IBM, and UNIX variants and database products such as DB2 and Informix. Currently, Russell works as a Senior Systems Analyst/Applications Analyst at Eddie Bauer Information Technology LLC. Previously, he worked at Genie Industries, Inc and Alternative Resources Company in various roles such as Systems Analyst, Applications Analyst, and Senior Systems Analyst (Consultant). Russell holds a Master's degree in Information Technology from American Intercontinental University.
