Saatvik Arya is a junior at the University of Washington studying Informatics: Software Engineering. With 1.19 years of relevant experience, he has interned at small startups like Genemod and Diversity Policy in the past. Currently, he is working as a Webmaster at ASUW and is an incoming Software Development Engineer Intern at GoDaddy. As a Webmaster at ASUW, Saatvik is responsible for the design, building, and upkeep of websites for entities across ASUW that impact more than 50,000 UW students. He has educated employees on the maintenance of their websites and has used technologies such as Slack, Wordpress, PHP, MySQL, and CentOS Linux. During his internship at Genemod, Saatvik spearheaded the project for transitioning from state-based routing to URL-based routing using React Router, which impacted the entire codebase. He created backend endpoints for data fetching in Django, which allowed customers to share links to specific components of the app amongst their team. He collaborated with the UI/UX team and 2 engineers to redesign a core component using React.js and SCSS used for organizing reagents, which helped close 2 clients. He also launched a new Case Study blog page using Gatsby and implemented a content management system for showcasing new case studies using Gatsby and Markdown, which attracted over 10,000 monthly viewers. He created robust unit tests for backend endpoints with a 15% increase in code coverage. Saatvik's education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Informatics: Software Engineering from the University of Washington Information School, where he is currently pursuing his degree. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Informatics: Software Engineering from the University of Washington and has completed a Non-Degree program in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
