Safwan Km is a Lead Engineer with over 9 years of relevant experience in the field of 5G, LTE, EPC, VoLTE, IMS, Integration, Testing, and Customer Support. Currently working at Samsung, he is responsible for technology and protocol related to 5G, EPC, LTE, VOLTE, IMS, GTPv2, SIP, DIAMETER, SDP, RTP, S1AP, and NGAP. He is also proficient in manual testing of Samsung AMF, SMF, and basic 5G registration, PDU session establishment, mobility reg, N1 Handover, and other scenarios in 5G using simulated UDM, PCF, NRF, etc. Safwan has extensive experience in LTE technology and has a deep understanding of 3GPP Specifications and RFCs. He has implemented them to test/simulate LTE entities like HSS, MME, SGW, PGW, OCS, CG, PCRF, and AAA. He has also performed manual testing of Samsung PCSCF, ICSCF, SCSCF with simulated UE, HSS, TAS, MGCF. He has experience in EDA (Escape Defect Analysis) and reproducing site defects in the lab environment. Safwan has worked with Mavenir as a Member of Technical Staff and was the point of contact between the Mitel Operation team and R&D team for all bugs and issues raised for Mitel IWF- CSFB & SRVCC. He has also worked with Tech Mahindra as a Software Engineer, where he was responsible for understanding the business of AT&T, reviewing the network functionality/features requirements, and conducting internal reviews with team members and onsite teams. Safwan has a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from NIT Calicut. He has also attended Devamatha CMI Public School. His tech stack includes test, senior software engineer, integration, software engineer, QA, and mobile.
