Saheb Motiani is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with a passion for building AI systems and understanding ML workflows. With almost 8 years of relevant experience, he has developed product-based application-level software and is now more interested in online machine learning workflow and reinforcement learning. Currently, Saheb works at Babylon, an AI platform, where he is responsible for ETLs, feature engineering, data pipelines, stream processing, model training, and evaluating if Flink is the right data processing engine for their existing and potential use-cases. He is also weighing the pros and cons of building internal frameworks versus using AWS services. Saheb has worked with several companies in the past, including Disney Streaming Services, where he was a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer. At Disney, he worked on several micro-systems, such as Media Analysis Services (MAS), Broadcast Control Plane (BCP), and Splicer Service. He also built an internal interviewing tool called Critical Region. His tech stack includes Kafka, Scala, Akka, Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift, DynamoDB, Protobuf, AWS, ECS, SQS, SNS, and more. Saheb holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Science from Dhiru Bhai Ambani Institute and completed his HSC from St. Xavier Loyola Hall - Ahmedabad. He is skilled in AI, Software Engineering, ML, AWS, Reinforcement Learning, ETL, Microservices, Python, and Kubernetes. Saheb is an engineer who loves investigations, alignment, and writing technical design docs. He cares about software performance, robustness, and resiliency. He is currently developing a reference pattern for productionizing machine learning models at HealthIQ, which utilizes AI platform and Data platform to persist risk predictions and health score in FHIR compliant Health Graph.
