Sai Abhishek Tumma is an experienced Procurement Engineer with a strong background in engineering design and manufacturing, new product development, process improvements, strategic sourcing and spend management, variable cost productivity (VCP), Design for Excellence (DfX), and stakeholder relationship management. Currently, he is working as an OMM Performance Manager at Philips, where he is the Global Product lead for Procurement managing China, Israel, and US sites for the AMI product Vereos Digital PET/CT Scanner, driving the program through the NPI Launch process. With over 6.86 years of relevant experience, Sai has managed a supply base of 30 suppliers across the globe with an annual spend of $25M, covering metals, PCBA, composites, and HLA suppliers. He has been the focal point of contact between engineering, operations, and suppliers to drive innovation, design solutions, and implement them in the factory, supporting over 200 engineering changes. Sai has also led strategic sourcing activities for the business in alignment with the global procurement roadmap and was the sourcing lead in a business-critical Lean project working with cross-function and supplier to execute improvement actions to enhance quality, delivery, and mitigate revenue impact of $1.2M USD. In addition to his current role, Sai has worked as a Barista at Starbucks, where he demonstrated extreme attention to detail to ensure top quality production and service to meet sensitive deadlines. He also proactively worked side by side with multiple levels of upper management to ensure consistent, high-quality customer service was maintained and presented to each client. Sai has also worked as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op at Integrated Cleanroom Technologies Limited, where he was involved in the development of product modules, product specifications, part detailing with process flow relations, and prepared the Cause and Effect Diagrams which depict the potential cause of failure to a component and its subsequent effects. Sai holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from BITS. He completed his High School education from Vignan Vidyalaya. Sai's tech stack includes Apache Airflow and Mobile.
