Sailesh Patnala is a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer and Research Scientist with a passion for developing innovative and inclusive financial products. Currently, he is the Founding Engineer at pave.dev, where he is leading the development of a platform that makes it easier for fintech developers to access a unified view of their end customers’ cash flow and financial profile. Sailesh has a strong background in software engineering, big data processing, and natural language processing (NLP). Prior to his current role, he worked at BlackRock as a Software Engineer, where he built data pipelines to ingest large unstructured datasets from Bloomberg & DowJones news using Scala and Spark. He also developed a Python library for financial researchers to leverage NLP functionalities like sentiment analysis, entity recognition, and topic modeling. During his time at BlackRock, he participated in a 2-year Software Engineering Rotation Program where he worked on various projects such as Portfolio Management Tools (Equities), Investment Systems Shared Infrastructure, Alpha Generation Platform - Fixed Income Research, and Portfolio Analytics - FutureAdvisor. Sailesh is a graduate of Cornell University, where he obtained his Master of Engineering in Computer Science. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of California, Davis. His technical skills include Spark, Sentiment Analysis, NLP, Scala, Python, ETL, and Big Data. With 3.85 years of relevant experience, Sailesh is a highly motivated and results-driven individual who is committed to achieving excellence in everything he does.
