Salama Ummer is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with 8.95 years of experience in the field. She is currently employed at DellEMC as a Software Engineer, where she is a part of the DataDomain DDFS team. Her responsibilities include file migration from active tier to less expensive cloud tier with dedup and compression, bug-fixes, and feature enhancements. Additionally, she is working on a virtual scale-out solution for the product and is the owner of the Filesystem Management component. Salama has designed and developed the CUTI (Cluster Unit Test Infrastructure) and maintains the Desktop Unit Test Infrastructure using C, Python, and Shell. Salama has also worked as a Software Engineering Analyst at Accenture, where she supported a desktop Java application for a UK-based spectacles retailer (Specsavers). Her work involved incident management, problem management, and change management like patch releases, bug fixes, and incident resolution. She was part of the L3 support team supporting 600+ stores across the UK and led a sub-team of five members in one major release as part of sharing the workload of her lead. Salama holds a Master of Technology (MTech) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, and a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the College of Engineering Trivandrum. She possesses a strong technical skill set, including software engineering, test, infra, Python, Java, MySQL, mobile, SQL, corpus, search, and UI. Salama is a highly motivated individual with a passion for software engineering and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
