Salil Tembe is a Senior Engineer at TATA Advanced Systems Limited with over 8 years of relevant experience. He specializes in FPGA-based radar monitoring and control subsystem design, firmware architecture design, simulation and implementation for the FPGA in VHDL, and maintaining low latency between input signal and the main-frame radar computer. Salil has designed and implemented a Spartan 6 FPGA circuit board capable of handling multiple high-speed ADCs. He has also implemented an SPI master component and a protocol for communication with other microcontrollers on board, and combined data streams from the FPGA and the I2C bus for forwarding to the next microcontroller in the data chain. Salil has developed controlling and timing logic for the Extended Interaction Klystron Amplifier (EIKA) power modulator unit on the FPGA. He has implemented an SPI slave component for accepting hardware action commands, dynamic clock reconfiguration, synchronized timing clock with the main Radar transmitter clock, and a state machine for EIKA warm-up sequence. In his past roles, Salil served as a Project Engineer at the National Center for Excellence in Technology for Internal Security, IIT Bombay, where he developed technology for the Indian Security Forces. He also worked as a Research Scientist at the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research, where he was actively involved in the development of embedded hardware for Atmospheric cloud radar systems and contributed to RF/MW design, test, and measurement. Salil holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Xavier Institute of Engineering and a Diploma in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from St. Xavier Technical Institute.
