At SAS, he developed a python cloud solution to extract, analyze, and visualize internal ticketing metrics to help provide upper management a greater grasp of department performance. He also engineered a Bash and Ansible solution for storage cleanup to prevent outages and keep over 4000 customer production level environments running 24/7. Sam automated the creation of his department's three 24/7 on-call support calendars to account for employee work-life balance and productivity, while shortening the calendar creation process from 3 days manually to 30 minutes automated. Sam's experience at SAS also included troubleshooting complex technical issues using system data and log files, managing and prioritizing request/incident queues, and providing Linux and windows systems support. He also conducted interviews and participated in mentoring for new hires in SAS administration across a multitude of departments and career roles. Sam actively participated in a 4-month training program that included classroom-style lectures, case studies, mock customer presentations, and exams to learn a vast range of technology, including Linux administration, data scraping and manipulation, configuration management, and data visualization. Sam received a Bachelor of Science in Business and Enterprise Management: Data Analytics from Wake Forest University. His technical skills include SRE, Ansible, and Python.
