Sam Sundar is a versatile DevOps Engineer with over 4 years of relevant experience in supporting, automating, and optimizing mission-critical deployments on AWS using Containers, Container Orchestration, Configuration Management tools, CI/CD, and DevOps processes. Currently, he is working as a DevOps Engineer at apty and is responsible for creating infrastructure using IAC tools like Terraform for multiple accounts and multiple regions. He has also written CI pipelines across repositories for seamless deployment of services into multiple environments and regions. Sam has implemented SonarCloud for static code testing along with coverage, Trivy for container vulnerability management, and has been actively involved in SoC 2 and ISO audit certifications. He works closely with the development team for designing architecture and has set up centralized logging with Sumologic for application logging using Fluentd as the log scraper. During disaster recovery activities, Sam has backed up and restored Kubernetes Cluster with AWS S3 and min.io using Velero. Sam is known for automating monotonous tasks with Bash scripts and has re-architected data pipelines to process real-time analytics on clickstream data. He is the point of contact for architecture, infra, data pipelines, on-prem, and CI/CD and actively performs cost-saving in Cloud by integrating different sets of tools. Prior to apty, Sam worked at Mindtree as an Engineer and Junior Engineer. At Mindtree, he migrated on-premise servers to the cloud and worked closely with the architecture team for breaking down monolith into microservice applications and containerized the same. He also set up a complete CI pipeline for seamless deployment of code into production along with code quality and zero vulnerabilities. He automated monotonous tasks with Ansible and shell scripts and implemented DR strategy for applications hosted in Kubernetes. Sam holds a B.Tech degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from SRM University. His tech stack includes DevOps, AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Ansible, infra, Terraform, test, Docker, Jenkins, Microservices, Selenium, Redis, MySQL, Elastic Search, Web, Senior Software Engineer, Python, and Golang.
