Samarth Ramesh is a highly motivated Software Engineer at Soroco with a strong background in mathematics and computer science. He has a lifelong passion for mathematics and has learned the skills necessary to blend theoretical and applied mathematics and computer science to solve challenging problems. Samarth aims to become an AI researcher/engineer and use his strong mathematical foundations to implement innovative AI solutions. With 1.87 years of relevant experience, Samarth has worked as a Machine Learning Software Engineer at Soroco where he has gained experience working in an enterprise environment. Prior to this, he worked as an Intelligent Data Processing and Machine Learning Intern at Kryptonas Innovations Private Limited, an early-stage startup based in Noida, where he focused on building a platform to provide affordable document/invoice extraction and management solutions to MSME businesses. He built a tactical solution for immediate use on selected invoice templates and simultaneously conducted research to develop a robust deep learning-based solution for template-free detection and extraction of key-value pairs and table information. Samarth also worked as a GRM Intern at IBM where he implemented a model for the image and text cross-modal retrieval problem on the Recipe1M+ dataset. He worked with a team of other students to conduct comprehensive research on image and text embeddings to judge the different ways of representing data in a cross-modal embedding space. He handled the challenges of working with an enormous and badly structured dataset and researched and considered different methods commonly being used for regularization of such models. He integrated Facebook’s InferSent sentence embedding model and transfer learnt Resnet101 into a cross-embedding model inspired by a similar model built by MIT. Samarth holds a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from Chennai Mathematical Institute and has completed a Visiting Student program in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He has a strong tech stack that includes Software Engineering, ML, AI, Deep Learning, SQL, Research Scientist, Computer Vision, NLP, Python, and Docker. Samarth is currently seeking a job that allows him to work on real-world business problems and gain more experience working in an enterprise environment.
