Sameep Mehta is an accomplished IBM Distinguished Engineer with over 17 years of experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He is currently serving as the Adjunct Faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. In his current role, Sameep is responsible for leading Data and AI Platform strategy at IBM Research India. His work focuses on developing novel AI and ML algorithms and solutions for real-world enterprise problems and infusing trust, transparency, and fairness in AI algorithms and platforms. Sameep is a well-known figure in the AI community and has presented his work at premier AI conferences and leading newspapers and magazines. He is also a guest lecturer on these topics at conferences and educational institutes. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Discovery, and Ethics in AI. Prior to his current role, Sameep has held various leadership positions at IBM Research AI. As a Senior Manager and STSM, Data and AI Platforms, he led the Data and AI strategy at IBM Research India. He was responsible for developing a cutting-edge research agenda that aligned with product roadmaps, worked with stakeholders to come up with new features of IBM Data and AI offerings, and established deep relationships with academia. Sameep holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The Ohio State University and has completed his Executive Leadership program from eCornell. He also holds an MS in Computer Science from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Delhi.
