Sameer Samarth is a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager with over 17 years of experience in the technology industry. His research interests lie in distributed systems, peer-to-peer networks, search engines, and big data analytics. Currently, he works at Cohesity, where he leads large-scale distributed backend systems. Prior to Cohesity, Sameer held senior leadership positions at Mobilewalla, where he was responsible for infrastructure management on AWS and engineering ownership of multiple SaaS-based data and MLOps products. He was also the Director of Application Engineering, where he played a key role in building large-scale real-time distributed systems. Notable products he helped build include the world's first mobile app discovery search engine, a big data analytics platform that provides demographic, behavioral, and affinity profiles across all iOS and Android apps, a real-time bidding platform for mobile ads handling 100,000 requests/second with under 100 ms latency, and a petabyte-scale data warehousing/analytics platform using Spark, Presto, and EMRs.
