Sameer Sontakey is a seasoned software and product development professional with over 10 years of experience. He co-founded a marketing software company where he designed and built enterprise applications, backend services, and data pipelines for big data ingestion, which delivered meaningful insights from disparate data systems. Sameer is now the CEO and founder of Biostrap, a health wearable platform that utilizes machine learning and artificial intelligence to provide comprehensive individualized and population-level insights into one's physiology and overall health. Biostrap offers the world's most advanced science-based technology to improve global health, facilitating data collection through a clinically validated wrist-worn device. The platform enables users to manage stress, monitor sleep, activity, meditation, brain health, and heart health. Sameer's transformative weight-loss journey inspired him to become obsessed with health and how one can take better control of their well-being. He realized that his passion for wearables and health could be linked, and he could create something that is convenient, actionable, provides clinical data, and is more meaningful to the consumer than other wearable technology. Sameer launched Biostrap in June 2016, and the platform now has users across the world and has been involved in various studies in the clinical space, identifying early signs of respiratory illness or the efficacy of multiple interventions on sleep, recovery, and overall well-being. Sameer's past experience includes being a General Partner at Sontakey Ventures, LLC, where he made seed investments in various early-stage tech companies. He was also the Co-founder and Software Architect of Bridg, an enterprise SaaS data infrastructure company that enables brick-and-mortar retailers to identify, understand, and engage with their unknown in-store customers. Sameer single-handedly architected and developed the entire front-end from scratch. Sameer holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Harvey Mudd College and completed his schooling in Computer Science from Don Bosco. His tech stack includes ML, AI, Big Data, Backend, and Web.
