Samir Noorani is a seasoned software engineer with almost a decade of experience in the field. He is currently serving as the JVP of Engineering at Zilingo, a leading e-commerce platform that connects fashion and lifestyle sellers in Southeast Asia. In his current role, Samir is responsible for leading the engineering team and driving the technical strategy of the company. Prior to joining Zilingo, Samir worked as a Software Engineer at Kiwi, a mobile-first games company. During his tenure at Kiwi, he was responsible for developing scalable game mechanics and features, designing architecture for scalable databases, and implementing server-side capabilities. He also contributed towards building tools for the company that facilitate design and development of various aspects of the game. Some of the notable achievements during his tenure at Kiwi include developing a custom optimized version of Tiled, an open-source tile map editor to design the base layout of the game, and owning and re-factoring the combat system based on Box2D physics engine along with creation of various types of power-ups for in-game attacking and defensive units. Samir also worked as a Software Developer (Internee) at ANB Education, where he developed an alpha version of 'R Square', a web-based modular learning and assessment application in an educational start-up firm. He was responsible for leading the engineering team in the development and co-ordinating with content team and artists to deliver the product in a specified time frame. Samir holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Finance Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. He also completed his Junior College education in Science from Thomas Baptista Junior College. Samir has expertise in various technologies, including Android, PHP, MySQL, Java, and Javascript. He is a highly motivated and results-driven professional with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
