Samir Shah is an innovative and entrepreneurial problem solver with a strong bias towards action. With almost 14 years of relevant experience in the technology industry, he has played crucial roles in discovery, road-mapping, driving cross-functional design discussions, and delivering product features. Currently, Samir is an Engineering Manager at Groww, where he leads a team of developers and engineers to build cutting-edge products and features. Before joining Groww, Samir worked as a Software Development Engineer at Expedia, where he solved problems related to "Search" in the Ordering Services domain. He developed a cloud-native solution for moving an existing backend Transaction Search platform to the AWS cloud, reducing client friction and making client onboarding faster and error-free. He also coordinated the design discussion and implementation across functional teams to implement a common framework to achieve GDPR and CCPA compliance. Samir's experience also includes working as a Software Development Specialist/Product Owner at Amdocs, where he owned the product backlog of the prepaid billing platform. He led a team to develop a dashboard using Elasticsearch, which was used by VP-level executives to predict future requirements of Hadoop data lakes. He was responsible for designing routing and load balancing of core billing platform infrastructure, which handled all customer orders and billing queries. Samir holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from St. Francis Institute of Technology and an Executive PGDBM in Management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. He is proficient in a wide range of technologies, including AWS, Java, Python, Search, Microservices, Elastic Search, Hadoop, Spring, Azure, MongoDB, Spring Boot, DevOps, and Frontend.
