Sampath Kumar is a highly experienced Senior Director of Product & Engineering at Flipkart, where he leads engineering teams for various marketplace products. His current role involves overseeing the Seller Order Fulfillment services, as well as the Service and Platforms on Trust & Safety. In this capacity, he is responsible for detecting and taking action on risk and fraud by different marketplace players. Prior to joining Flipkart, Sampath held several key leadership positions in renowned companies such as Yahoo and Talisma. At Yahoo, he served as the Director of Engineering, where he built and led the engineering team responsible for the Trust And Safety platform. He was also the engineering leader for one of the Top 12 properties for Yahoo. Additionally, he set up the Display Ad System team in Bangalore and successfully launched key products like SmartAds listing server, Ad Center, Quota Server, etc. At Talisma, Sampath was the Engineering Manager and led the end-to-end development of the Email Marketing and SFA product lines of Talisma CRM product. The Email Marketing product was highly scalable with features like workflow definition, auto-merge, response tracking, etc., while the SFA had rich features like Forecasting, Outlook integration for task management, workflow definition, etc. Sampath has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Mysore, which he earned in 1994. With over 28 years of experience, he has a strong technical background in Senior Software Engineering, Product Management, and Integration.
