Sampath Velaga is an experienced Technical Lead at Meta with over 8 years of relevant experience in software engineering. He is currently working on Facebook Stories Growth/Notifications Initiatives, where he is responsible for developing and A/B testing features to improve stories production, consumption, and feedback on Facebook. He is also working on Android for stories experience. Prior to joining Meta, Sampath worked as a Software Engineer - Growth at Keeptruckin, where he led efforts to improve the trial checkout experience and worked with the stake holders to narrow down the requirements and timelines. He also led engineering efforts to reduce friction in the customer checkout flow and built features for fleet cloning, which was used by the sales team for demonstration to potential clients. Sampath also worked at Uber as a Software Engineer - Payment/Money Movement Risk, where he designed, built, and supported robust, scalable, high-performance services for processing chargebacks. He worked with stakeholders to discuss the design, timeline, and weekly communication/sync with all the stakeholders about the status of the project and discuss any outstanding dependencies. Sampath holds a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego, and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. (Hons)) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from BITS Pilani. He has a diverse tech stack, including experience in software engineering, senior software engineering, frontend, UI, test, Android, product manager, MySQL, Apache Hive, Apache Airflow, ETL, and infra.
