Sandeep D'souza is a Research Software Engineer at Amazon, with a keen interest in Distributed Systems, IoT, Cloud and Edge Computing. He was part of the initial team at an early-stage autonomous vehicle startup, where he was responsible for multiple software components of their connected and autonomous vehicle stack. With over 4 years of relevant experience, Sandeep has also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at a stealth startup and as an AI & Research Intern at Microsoft. At Microsoft, Sandeep designed and built an end-to-end live-video analytics system that minimizes privacy leakage based on user privileges and administrator policies. The system also supports bandwidth-efficient video streaming to multiple consumers in a privacy-preserving fashion. Sandeep holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, where he conducted research on cutting-edge technologies. He also earned a Bachelor of Technology (Honors) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
