Sandeep Jangra is a seasoned engineering leader with a strong track record of innovation, leading teams for business-critical projects, and delivering results. With over 17 years of experience in the software industry, including 10 years in product-based companies in the US, Sandeep has contributed to building products from scratch and taking them to production for hundreds of customers. As the Senior Engineering Manager at Walmart Global Tech India, Sandeep is responsible for helping 12+ engineers grow in their careers and meeting the business goals. He is the Engineering Manager for platform teams providing Cache, Search & Data Access Frameworks to the rest of Walmart. Sandeep's main responsibilities include people management, hiring, design reviews with architects, coordination with US counterparts, and customer engagement to get product adoption. In his previous roles, Sandeep was the Global Engineering Manager within Walmart for the data migration tools team. He successfully drove the public cloud migration for Tier 1 applications, including Online Grocery membership services, Tax, Cart/Checkout. Sandeep also managed a team responsible for providing full life-cycle automation for a highly available open-source database in the private & public cloud. Prior to Walmart, Sandeep worked at eBay as a Member Technical Staff/Team Lead, where he was the Technical Lead for the Fraud domain. He successfully integrated the risk analytics engine within the checkout flow to secure the transactions, which saved the company $20 million per annum in losses incurred due to online fraud. Sandeep holds a Masters's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Thapar University. He has expertise in a range of technologies, including NoSQL, Python, SQL, NLU, Search, Docker, Java, QA, Javascript, ML, Scikit, Spring, and more.
