Sandeep Tengali is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with over 10 years of experience in the industry. He currently holds the position of Technical Lead at Atlassian, where he is part of the Enterprise Cloud team. Sandeep is responsible for helping two scrum teams of 10 engineers build the next-gen Unified Policy Platform using OpenPolicyAgent. His expertise in technologies such as OpenPolicyAgent, Spring Webflux, JAVA, DynamoDB, Memcached, GraphQL, REST API, Kinesis data streams, makes him an invaluable asset to the team. Prior to his current role, Sandeep worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Atlassian, where he led a small team of highly skilled Backend and FrontEnd engineers to build Multi-Region Real-Time Platform capability for Confluence Cloud using WebSockets, GraphQL Subscriptions, Kafka (PubSub), Spring WebFlux, DynamoDB, and Distributed Cache. He was also responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the entire GraphQL infrastructure for Confluence. Sandeep was part of the Confluence Monolith decomposition project to microservices to scale Confluence Cloud to unlimited users per tenant. He identified, analyzed, and fixed the bottlenecks in Confluence cloud to scale to 20k users from 5k per tenant. He was part of the Performance Team to improve the Backend GraphQL query latencies and worked on making all the Confluence Internal and Public REST APIs GDPR compliant. Sandeep has a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University. His tech stack includes Spring, Java, Backend, Kafka, Frontend, Microservices, and Infra.
