Sandhya Saravanan is a Software Engineer at Microsoft, India, with a passion for leveraging technology to positively impact people's lives. She completed her Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Trichy and is currently pursuing a Winter Internship at IIT Madras. During her internship, Sandhya has been working on ongoing research in the field of analyzing chest radiographs and performing lung field segmentation to accurately identify affected areas of the lung. She has used the U-Net architecture, a Convolution Neural Network for biomedical image segmentation, on the Montgomery Data Set, achieving an accuracy of 97%. Sandhya has also read multiple research papers in the field of Convolutional Neural Networks to make informed decisions about using the U-Net architecture. Prior to her internship, Sandhya was an SDE intern at Microsoft, where she built the Azure Cost Dashboard, a tool to enable optimization of Azure subscription costs without interfering with the management of Azure resource groups and resources. The dashboard monitors costs of resources across several Azure subscriptions and includes an inbuilt notification system to send emails consisting of high costing resources and hidden cost growth patterns to the admin. The tool is powered primarily by Azure Databricks and Power BI. Sandhya's past experience includes being an Event Manager for Arts and Music Clusters at Festember 2019 and an Event Coordinator for English Lits and Dramatics Clusters at Festember 2018. As a manager, she played a crucial role in maintaining smooth flow of events under the Arts and Music clusters by ensuring good communication between the various other teams involved. Sandhya's education history includes a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT Tiruchirappalli and Senior Secondary Schooling from Chettinad Vidyashram, R.A. Puram, Chennai. Sandhya's tech stack includes experience as a Research Scientist, Software Engineer, and proficiency in Azure, Databricks, Neural Networks, and Image Segmentation. With 2.20 years of relevant experience, Sandhya is a driven and passionate individual who is always eager for new challenges and growth opportunities.
