Sangeeta Bavi is an Executive Director at Microsoft, with a passion for empowering people and organizations to achieve more. With over 18 years of experience in different areas of the startup ecosystem, she brings a wide breadth and depth of knowledge in GTM programs, developer marketing, consumer insights, solution and product management, and E2E software creation. Currently, Sangeeta is the Startup Ecosystem Lead for Microsoft in India, where she supports and empowers new-age startups and entrepreneurs by bringing them the right products, solutions, and programs. Her focus is on whitespace initiatives and she is result-oriented and passionate about startup and developer ecosystems, product development, innovation, and technology. Prior to Microsoft, Sangeeta worked at Nokia, where she held various roles, including Head of Developer Outreach and Senior Product Manager. In her role as Head of Developer Outreach, she was responsible for evangelizing Nokia as a preferred partner in the local ecosystem, localizing product marketing contents and campaigns to developers, executing outreach initiatives, and creating local developer campaigns. She also launched Nokia Asha 501 with Stephen Elop and Peter Skillman. As a Senior Product Manager at Nokia, Sangeeta worked with the Government of India to create an identity solution on the mobile platform. She was responsible for creating a new solution category of identity management and verification for B2B and B2G businesses, collaborating with UIDAI and departments of Govt of India, gathering voice of customer and understanding the competitive landscape, introducing the concept of Nokia’s UID-Solution and mobility to B2B customers, and defining and owning the lifecycle plan for the solution. Sangeeta holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Warangal and a Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
