Sangeeta Dey is an experienced software engineer in the consumer electronics industry, currently working as an SDE2 at Cadence Design Systems. She has previously worked at Samsung R&D Institute in Bangalore, where she developed modem side code for Qualcomm chipset-based Samsung 5G smartphones. Sangeeta specializes in working at the Non-Access Stratum (NAS) layer and incorporating operator requirements in the phone's software suite. Sangeeta earned her Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology and is proficient in C, C++, Python, and core CS fundamentals such as OOPS, DS and Algorithms, Databases, OS, and Machine Learning. She has 5.20 years of relevant experience in the tech industry. During her tenure at Samsung, Sangeeta worked with various international telecom operators like AT&T, Verizon, TMO, etc to incorporate their requirements into Samsung smartphones on the Modem side (C code). She also worked on various on-premise 5G projects to support timely and bug-free market release. This includes the Note 9 and S10 (Verizon, Sprint) projects in South Korea, the A90 (O2 operator) in London, UK and the upcoming S20 (Docomo & KDDI) in Tokyo, Japan. Sangeeta also developed a debug-screen: a hidden menu, accessible by keystroke, which helps testers to analyze various network conditions like signal strength, Cell ID, etc. and also allows them to set certain UE side parameters. She analyzed device-side logs, using Qualcomm tools like QXDM and QCAT to identify issues and provide patches for the same. As a software engineering intern at Samsung, Sangeeta developed a tool using Python that would summarize user data pertaining to web-browsing and provide meaningful insights, as part of the Android Web team. The tool eliminated manual scanning of large CSV files and reduced man-hours markedly. Sangeeta's tech stack includes software engineering, Python, Machine Learning, mobile, and web development.
