Sanjay Dorairaj is an accomplished Engineering Leader at Amazon Web Services (AWS) with over 22 years of experience in the multimedia, cable, telecom, and financial domains. He is a passionate and execution-focused technologist with a track record of successfully leading and executing multi-million dollar projects. Sanjay has an infectious energy and a talent for motivating teams to achieve difficult and challenging goals. He is particularly adept at leading new product development from birth to maturity and building and nurturing high performing teams. Currently, Sanjay is an Engineering Leader for AI Thought Leadership at AWS, where he is creating the next generation of AI/Machine Learning engineers and driving awareness and simplifying the onboarding experience for AWS/AI-ML services. He is also a CIS Faculty at San Jose City College, where he teaches programming languages, data science, and other computer technologies to students through the regular curriculum and the TechNest program. Sanjay holds a Master’s Degree in Information and Data Science (MIDS) from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Manonmaiam Sundaranar University. He also has an MS in Computer Applications from Bharathidasan University. Sanjay is continuously learning and always looking to stay at the cutting edge of technology and for ways to tie innovative ideas with real-world applications. Sanjay's technical expertise includes AI, AWS, ML, Senior Software Engineer, QA, and DevOps. In his previous role as Engineering Leader for VM Import/Export at Amazon, he led the development team responsible for enabling users to easily import virtual machine images from their existing environment to Amazon EC2 instances and export them back to their on-premises environment.
