Sankalp Sharma is an aspiring mathematician and programmer with 4.36 years of relevant experience in the field of trading engineering. Currently, he is working as an Analyst at AQR Capital Management where he played an instrumental role in designing and implementing the backend of a trade analytics platform. He used S3, Spark and custom made ETL layer to perform large scale analytics and developed API’s to review validated data generated by the analytics platform and dynamically correcting it. Sankalp also built a Django based data transmission app(TDL) deployed on PaaS as a one-stop platform for users to consume various types of trading data across the organization. This solved the problem of time taken while data retrieval and data accuracy. Previously, Sankalp worked as an Intern at Flipkart where he was a part of the Seller Listing Management Team. He implemented channel prioritization assigner for seller, setting up their priority for auto quality check, according to their past characteristics. He also worked on smart validation of products, utilizing VBA to add various functionality. Sankalp has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He is proficient in SQL, Data Warehouse, Spark, Backend, Django, Python, ETL, Docker, Jenkins, Postgres, and Software Engineer. He also worked on the migration of large scale traditional data warehouse (built using SQL) to a star schema based warehouse built on Trading specific domain concepts. The new warehouse added substantial business benefits and was a time-bound project that provided him the opportunity to go deep in not only understanding the tech but also business concepts.
